Pharmacist Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Pharmacy Assistant to join our veterinary practice. The successful candidate will support the pharmacy team in dispensing medications, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent patient care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and compassion are essential. Duties:

  • Assist with the preparation and dispensing of medications under supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Manage medication inventories, including stock checks and reordering supplies as needed.
  • Support veterinarians and veterinary nurses with medication administration during consultations and treatments.
  • Maintain precise records of dispensed medications, patient details, and relevant documentation in compliance with legal and organisational standards.
  • Provide excellent patient care by offering guidance to pet owners regarding medication usage and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Ensure the pharmacy area is kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and answering queries related to pharmacy services.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or assistant within a veterinary setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures for animals.
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach towards patients.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Registered Veterinary Nurse Role

We have a vacancy for a friendly and enthusiastic RVN to join our busy team of 14 vets, 17 RVN’s, 4 SVN’s 2 VCA and a hydrotherapist in our hospital and training practice in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. We are a well-established privately owned small animal practice with an interesting and varied case load. The clinic facilities include separate hospital and medical wards, theatre suite, dental suite, digital x-ray, in house laboratory, ultrasound, endoscopy and hydrotherapy treadmill.

The position is full time with a 1 in 9 OOH rota providing good time off in lieu. The hours are calculated as an average over the 9-week rolling rota and work out at 40hrs a week and on average one night shift a week.

You can expect a broad range of cases, lots of hands on care with patients, CPD to be encouraged and a generous benefits package The Salary range is dependent on experience and begins from £30k per annum. Benefits include 1/2 price on veterinary treatment, RCVS fees paid, BVNA membership paid, auto enrolment into a pension on 3% and CPD allowance is £750 a year.

Receptionist/Admin assistant Role

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:
• Booking appointments and answering client queries via telephone and email.
• Processing payments and updating client records on our PMS system.
• Maintaining and re-stocking our reception area.
• Supporting the team with general administrative tasks.
• Performing light cleaning duties, such as hoovering and mopping.

• Assisting vets with preparing, printing, and organising documents.

Experience and skills we are looking for:
• Excellent IT skills: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new practice management systems (PMS), email communication, and document preparation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills: We need someone who is extremely organised, has strong communication skills over the phone and via email, and happy working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
